| Why do
business in Shenzhen |
Shenzhen
is the first city in China Mainland to embark
on the road of market economy.
By end of the 1970¡¯s, China had made its determination
onto the way of market economy. As there was
no existing experience for transformation
of economic modes, the Central Government
decided to set up special economic zones in
the effort of exploiting the road of economic
mechanism reform.
Shenzhen luckily became the experimental field
for special economic zones.
Shenzhen did not fail the historic mission.
While achieving great achievements, Shenzhen
has also provided precious experiences for
the market-oriented economic mechanism reform.
A key economic city in South China
Shenzhen is situated in the Pearl River Delta,
one of the most active economic regions in
China. It lies at the sea outlet of the Pearl
River, and neighbors Hong Kong.
Shenzhen is the only city in China that possesses
both sea, land and air ports meantime. It
has the largest land port in the world. The
container throughput of Shenzhen Port ranks
the fourth in the world, and is believed to
grow to be No.1 or No.2 in ten years. The
air freight capacity of Shenzhen ranks the
thirty-seventh worldwide. With supports of
Hong Kong International Airport, goods manufactured
in Shenzhen can reach any of the key cities
of Asia within 5 hours.
Shenzhen¡¯s exports and imports have ranked
first for 13 years successively in China,
accounting for about 13% those of the entire
country.
Shenzhen people¡¯s income per capita and GDP
per capita ranked top in China.
The city with the most potential of development
in Asia
During the 25 years of development, Shenzhen
has retained an GDP increase ratio of 28%,
which is sustainable.
In the world economy, Shenzhen has become
been playing a more and more important role,
from the initial ¡°processor¡± to ¡°manufacturer¡±
and now to ¡°creator¡±.
Shenzhen has developed an economic mode propelled
by independent innovation and economic structure
upgrading. Its growth mode has been transformed
from ¡°external force propelled growth¡± to
¡°internal demand propelled growth¡±, which
are reflected as follows: the total output
value per km2 of Shenzhen is higher than the
average; its energy consumption per RMB10,
000 GDP is the lowest; and its trademark registration
and patent application is the most, of the
country¡
In only 25 years, basing on reform and innovation,
Shenzhen has developed from a small frontier
town into a metropolis with one of the strongest
comprehensive competitive forces. The spirit
of reform and innovation has been alive in
every aspect of the social and economic life
of the city, and has brought infinite drives
for the further successes of the city. |
